Gary Stevens is the President of the organization and a Director on the Board serving the Gary S. Stevens Foundation; a tax exempt, IRS approved 501c3, 4942j, not for profit, private operating foundation.  Gary’s role is to guide and support the mission of the foundation.

Gary is an engineer and computer geek by profession and he likes to make things, improve things, experiment, and, most importantly, learn.  He enjoys motor sports and comes alive getting in the game as a competitor.

His passion for the GSSF mission comes from seeing the "light bulbs" light up for people. In his early professional life, joy came from his own accomplishments. As the organization he started grew and his responsibilities grew, he got even greater joy from empowering and watching others accomplishing good things-learning, earning, and growing. Toward the end of his corporate life he was able to observe, assist and watch people as they, in turn, did the same for newer members in the organization.  Leverage, baby!

“If we directly help one person become more authentic with self, not only will personal productivity and actualization be positively impacted in that one person, it will indirectly affect many others. When people are ready and open to a competent coach they can grow rapidly and the knowledge that they are powering the growth themselves is like rocket fuel for subsequent growth. I'm also a believer that people have a material effect on people around them.  That's why I like us to work with people that are already making or desire to make an impact in the world."

Gary stated:  “I'm a firm believer in the old "teach a man to fish" vs. "give a man a fish" advice.  I am not about throwing fish to people; I am about lining up with people that want to learn to fish and showing them and helping them learn how.  Therefore, the important discrimination that we make in our organization is that people that want our services need to be ready to figure out how to catch fish.  If they are looking for A FISH, this isn’t their place.”

Mr. Stevens has been directly impacted by many coaches and mentors in his own life. Were it not for some early experiences where he learned the power and value to himself of accomplishment, he definitely would not be where he is today!

He says it well when he says “I have seen it in myself, and so I believe that when people are ready to open to a competent coach they can grow rapidly. They've learned to fish! Once people see this cycle in their own lives, they are irreversibly changed, because they recognize their own power...and they DIG it, and they want more!"

He is excited to watch the process unfold as alliances are formed, people are assisted and the staff and volunteers deliver the day-to-day services of this organization to those that want to “fish.”
